Hi, I’m Alex — founder of Craft Boys.
I’m an engineer by education, and from the very beginning I knew I wanted to build things the right way. When I came to the United States, I found not only a new home, but also a new purpose. I chose to dedicate my career to working with wood, creating outdoor spaces where families can make memories for years to come.
What started as a small family business has grown into a trusted company with multiple professional crews and more than 100 completed deck projects. Today, Craft Boys specializes exclusively in deck construction, restoration, and custom outdoor living spaces.
People often ask why we don’t build everything. The answer is simple: because we believe true craftsmanship comes from specialization. Great builders cannot be experts at every type of construction. We chose to become experts in one thing—and to do it exceptionally well. Decks are all we do, and we know every detail of them.
My engineering background shapes every project we take on. Safety, structural integrity, and longevity are never optional. I personally inspect existing decks for structural issues and code compliance, helping homeowners understand the real condition of their outdoor space before recommending any solution.
From budget-friendly projects to highly customized luxury builds, every client receives the same level of attention, honesty, and craftsmanship.
In 2026, I participated in a construction trade show, sharing ideas with fellow builders and connecting with professionals who are passionate about raising the standards of quality and craftsmanship in the industry.

I’m a husband, a father of two, and family has always been at the center of everything I do.
Ironically, my favorite place at home is exactly what we build every day—a deck. There is something special about warm summer evenings under string lights, sharing dinner with family, watching children play, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee in the morning. Those moments are priceless.

As Craft Boys continued to grow, I realized that my mission wasn’t only to build beautiful, safe decks. It was also to help raise the standard of the entire industry.
That is how Deck Academy was born.
Throughout my career, I rebuilt countless unsafe decks that had been constructed without following building codes or proper engineering principles. Seeing those mistakes convinced me that many builders simply needed someone willing to teach them the right way.
Today, Deck Academy has become a growing professional community of deck builders across the United States. More than 40 companies have completed our training and continue building quality decks in different states.
Beyond online education, I regularly host in-person Deck Academy meetups and workshops, bringing builders together to share experience, discuss new techniques, and strengthen our professional community.
Together, Craft Boys and the companies we’ve mentored have earned more than 400 five-star reviews, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of—not because of the numbers themselves, but because each review represents a homeowner who trusted us with their home.
