Most decks are done in a few days depending on size and weather — cleaning and sanding, then finish once the wood is dry.
With the right penetrating finish and a light re-coat every few years, a restored deck stays protected for a long time despite our rain.
For decks we almost always recommend a penetrating stain and sealer. Paint traps moisture and peels; stain lets the wood breathe and wears far better in our climate.
Yes — minor board swaps, re-fastening and railing tweaks are part of a proper restoration so the finished result is safe as well as good-looking.
